Annapolis is sorely low on that type of ethnic food... At least in the city maybe somewhere in one of the towns near maybe... There is a good place in Chinatown in DC I forget what it is called you go upstairs to the main dining restaurant, I really liked it. Maybe someone else knows the name. If they know it, they will probably slam it. I don't really like much Chinese food, except peking duck.

Sounds like you might be talking about Tony Cheng's Seafood Restaurant, which is upstairs from Tony Cheng's Mongolian Barbecue.

That's another one I was thinking of. Had a splendid duck there back in June--crispy dark skin, succulent meat. Even the scallion shoots and hoisin were above average quality.

Might try Hunan Rose in Odenton. As far as "the best", it would still have to be Peking Gourmet in Culmore (Bailey's Crossroads, VA). Another decent duck place is Peking Cheers in Gaithersburg, which has the added attraction of some good Szechuan dishes on the menu.

What didn't you like about Mark's Duckhouse? I've had the duck there a few times and found it to be quite nice. Not greasy at all.

I LOVED the Peking Duck at Mark's but apparently the specialty that is truest to the region represented by the other dishes is the roasted duck, where the skin is not as crispy.

Me too. And for those looking for a bargain - two people can very comfortably share half a Peking duck, order a veggie entree, and walk out the door for $30.

Miu Kee on Arlington Blvd. at Gallows Road, behind the IHOP. It's really good there. There are other restaurants around with Kee in the name, like Full Kee in Wheaton, and they have good duck and pork, as well.

Kam Sen Grocery next to the Annandale A&J. The soy sauce chicken there is wonderful too.
