Salad Bar, eating healthy now...

wanting to eat more healthy now as I am trying this new diet.
What salad places around the bay area are recommended, a nice selection of greens, (organic?) from a beautifully laid out bar displaying specialty vegetables and dressings and condiments; not sizzler, please...

thanks, any recs would be appreciated,

  1. Perhaps not exactly what you are looking for but I enjoy the salads at Plutos. Although not a typlical help yourself salad bar-salads are arranged and made up for you, the choice of toppings, veggies, fruits, dressing, protein, etc. is yours to make. A walkup counter where the customer picks the ingredients which are then assemblied- table seating is available and other offerings as well-good turkey dinner. Satisfys my salad craving days. I usually go to the Irving Street location.

    1. One of my favorite salad bars when I worked in downtown SF was Wildflower Cafe because the selection is huge, with lots of cooked options as well as a raw bar at the end of the line...It is expensive, though, as they charge by the pound, so choose carefully....
