Amaretti di Saronno

Want to buy a big box of those individually wrapped goodies. Someone said they got them at Winners or TJ Maxx. I have bought them from both and both were stale.
They are pricey little buggers, aren't they?

Winners is an "end of the line" kind of place - stuff on the shelves there has sat on the shelves somewhere else for a loooong time. That's why it got sold off to Winners. Amaretti go stale really fast, so Winners might not be the best place to get them.

I don't know where you can get the individually wrapped ones (Domino's in St. Lawrence carries them occasionally but not all the time), but the Price Chopper at Queen & Gladstone usually has packages of the smaller sized ones in the ethnic aisle. There's a big Italian population nearby, so they tend to restock them regularly. They're also the real ones made from apricot pits, not almonds.
