Best CSA for fruit w/ East Bay delivery?

OakTownHound Aug 3, 2007 09:33 AM

My non-profit organization, in Oakland, has been getting a weekly fruit box from Planet Organics, and we've been really disappointed with the quality -- hard, green stone fruit that tastes like it came from Chile, etc.

Can anyone recommend a good weekly fruit-only CSA box for us to switch to? We're in Jack London Square, so there would need to be a nearby pickup location, or a delivery option.

I have been using Terra Firma for the last few years and have really enjoyed the quality and variety of produce. There are 3 sizes to choose from (small, medium, and large), and they select the variety for you. Pick up is once a week - looks like the closest pick up location for you would be the Lakeshore/Grand Lake spot. Check out their website.

Sorry, this is not fruit only (although in the summer it certainly seems like it!).

Thanks for the tip, looks like a great box, but unfortunately, since our office has no kitchen, we're looking for fruit only.

Not Full Belly, their fruit is mostly that way too. Their corn is usually bad, too, and the tomatoes are rarely as good as I can find at the farmers' market. We stop our box in the summer because so much was ending up in the compost.

Frog Hollow Farm offers a CSA box and it is only fruit.
