Great lobster dish at Markt

Lobster in the pan with a julienne of garden fresh vegetables. The lobster was small (a 1 pounder) and the price was high ($36), but it was fantastic; perhaps the best lobster dish I've ever had. The lobster was roasted and served in a pan, slit open, and topped with a delicious medley of julienned vegetables. There was a sauce on the bottom of the pan which I am guessing comprised principally white wine and butter (and was great when mopped up with bread).

Don't order this if you're gonna be put off by the size or the price, but otherwise I highly recommend it.

That and the steak at Markt are my favorite dishes. I'm surprised though. I haven't been to the new location yet but I swear it was $32 at their old spot :( I wonder if some of their other dishes went up as well

They have another lobster dish on the menu, grilled lobster with braised mixed greens in a Hoegaarden cream sauce (whatever that is!), for $34.

Keep in mind that lobster prices have been high this year.

You all are right. I forgot about the basic price of lobster rising. Thanks. Still a fantastic dish. My SO forgot all about it and wants to go tomorrow now!

Not a big fan of the new Markt location, the old spot was great, still enjoy the food but definitely go there less because of where they moved

Is it the physical property itself or the location? The location is great for me: I never went to the old location and go to the new one all the time!

Location. I enjoyed sitting outdoors at the old location, new location is too hectic and smaller.

It is on the boisterous side, but they still have outdoor seating (albeit looking out over 6th Avenue).

I loved the old Markt location too. It was near Chelsea Market and actually enjoyable to sit outdoors (especially when travelling by bike). Have not yet been to the new space. What should I order? I loved the beer selection, waterzoii and mussels. Almost as good as in Brussels.

I heart Markt! Make sure to try their brunch.
