Raleigh CSAs?

  • 5

Has anyone had a subscription to one this summer? What has your experience been like? Interested in the variety& quality. The surprise factor has some creative appeal! Thanks!

  1. We've had a CSA from Brinkley Farms this summer. It's been great. The pork products especially were outstanding. Lots of good tomatoes, peas, squashes, greens etc too.

I had Brinkley this summer too and love it. I particularly like that you can request specific items or choose to be surprised. I'm also a huge fan of their pork and esp. of their eggs.

This week up in Wisconsin I met a rancher who runs a meat only CSA over the winter. I wonder if Brinkley would be willing to do that?

    2. We subscribed to Timberwood Organics this year. We're loving it--this week's box (we get a 1/2 share) had two baby watermelons, long beans, an eggplant, red peppers, and a bag of gorgeous tomatoes. Here's a photo of some of last week's cherry tomatoes: http://www.flickr.com/photos/l-dogg/9... And they deliver to our door.
