Goat's Milk Ice Cream [moved from L.A. board]

if, like me, you're allergic to cow's milk and aren't partial to soymilk or ricemilk, Goat's Milk Ice Cream is fantastic...i just discovered 2 brands for sale at Whole Foods and they're both good. but the strawberry and coconut ice creams, and the mango sorbet by a local company called Delicioux is especially great.

  1. You might want to check out this pretty recent post on the General Boards. The subject is goat milk ice cream, but it is LaLoo's brand that is mostly discussed.

Thanks for mentioning Delicioux brand as yet another option; the flavors sound good!

LaLoo's Pumpkin Spice ice cream is fantastic... that was my first foray into goat's milk ice cream and I don't think it will be my last. In fact, I was planning to do some experiments in my ice cream maker this weekend...

If you like the Pumpkin Spice (I do, too!), keep going and try the other flavors!

    2. I make goat milk gelato (Gelati di Capri) I'm in Whole Foods in the Philly area. So there are more than just 2 brands availible. I just googled goat milk and came to this link.
I'm doing it because cow milk attacks my sinuses and I love ice cream

I just saw your gelato for the first time in Princeton Whole Foods yesterday!!
They carried two flavors--a chocolate and an orange creamsicle, if I remember correctly.
I had the orange creamsicle in my hands, about to lower it into my basket, but remembered my High School reunion is less than a month away...
I'll be sure to try it now, though.
Kudos to you for getting your product out there on the market! Some of us dream of being able to do such a thing and wouldn't know where to start :)

To follow up, I did buy a pint of Gelati di Capri today. Whole Foods got a number of new flavors in stock and I picked up a pint of Biscotti & Crema. It's very delicious!

        2. I'm guessing the local company that you're referring to is Delicieuse in North Redondo Beach. My first then-reluctant taste of goat's milk ice cream was here. I was amazed at how great their strawberry goat's milk ice cream tasted. If you want to give their place a try, they're on Artesia. Ice creams are only half the story - they do serve food as well, and you have the option to pair an ice cream or sorbet with each course.

Yeah, it's Delecieuse, which is probably clost to (if not) the best ice cream I have ever had. It makes total sense to me to drive down to Redondo from the SFV for a couple of scoops.

Mmmmmmmmm .... Delecieuse ice cream ....
