We were thinking about one of these spots since we are looking for French/French inspired food near downtown.

We recently tried Cafe Claude and are not in a hurry to go back and Jeanty really let us down last time we were there.

We had our first dining experience at Plouf last week and were really impressed. It was midweek and rainin thus the restaurant was virtually empty. We had a really pleasant Parisian waiter that was very service-oriented. The busboys were constantly refillng water and bread. We choose mussels which I know is their specialty in a coconut/spice broth which was fantastic. These are probably the best mussels I have ever had. I recently had them at Chambar in Vanouver and this portion was larger and more interesting in flavor. It was $13 I think for an entree size. We splurged and had to have their "frites" and they met our expectations. They were very crisp and small unlike their huge soft American cousins.

I felt like I was in a Parisian cafe. I have not been to Anjou and I would like to hear comments about that as well.

I give Plouf a big thumbs up - there was nothing for me to criticize including their French Acme baguettes!
