I have a craving and can't think where to go. Would love to avoid KFC...

Flavors Soul Food in Bailey's Crossroads. They fry to order, so it's 20 minutes from ordering to eating, but it's worth it.

Tried the fried chicken at Flavors Soul Food. It is really good especially the skin on the meat and some of the sides ~ string beans, mac & cheese, and collard greens. I was not impressed with the red beans and rice and desserts. I jalso wished you can buy the chicken seperately since my bf really liked it and the 1/4 portion was not enough for him.
