Park and Orchard, East Rutherford

I have never heard of this restaurant, but Wine Spectator just gave it a Grand Award for "wine friendliness". Only one other restaurant in New Jersey received the same honor.

A check of P&O's website revealed that the wine list is 123 pages long! Furthermore, the menu looks very interesting and the prices are most reasonable.

The one suspicious thing is that all the accolades on the site are at least four years old.

I'd appreciate any comments, reviews, etc.

  1. Park & Orchard has been around for many years and is known for its superb wine list. I've never been there, but my brother had dinner there a year or two ago and said the food was very good.

    1. I've been many times and it's one of my favorite places. A true gem in the in NJ's culinary wasteland! The food is delicious and tends to lean on the "healthy" side. But that's not to say that it's boring "health food" by any means. Very creative dishes, and a wide variety to satisfy many palettes. They usually have a long list of interesting specials too.

      Go, and enjoy!

      1. I will definitely second exactly what dego diva just said. We love it there.

        1. Sorry to be the voice of dissent, but I've found they are not anywhere near what they used to be almost 20 years ago where they were the only interesting restaurant in the area. I've found their food to be fairly tasteless. Wine list is pretty good, though the servers don't know very much about the wine if you have questions.

          1. Well, then I guess we have to agree to disagree. We've been going there since they opened in their original location at the corner of Park & Orchard and have always had a great time with great food.
