Across the street is Leal Bakery that opens at 4:30AM and has freshly steamed tamales. You can pick up La Brea bread, Columbus artisanal salame (on top of the butcher counter), Sparky's rootbeer, chips, and other picnic snacks at Star Market. The Cheese Shop in Carmel is great. Better than any of the cheese shops in the City of San Francisco.
