A group of Boston 'Hounds got together for a "Forever Summer" cooking party. Guests were asked to bring either a first course or dessert. Our menu wound up including the Cold Minty Pea Soup, Za'atar Chicken with Fattoush, Shrimp and Black Rice Salad with Vietnamese Dressing, Watermelon, Feta and Black Olive Salad and for dessert: Blonde Mocha Layer Cake and Orange Cornmeal Cake. The party got many of us preparing dishes we hadn't yet made and was a great way to introduce 'Hounds to each other. So, I pass this idea along in hopes that others might be inspired to put together a similar party. It's easy on the host and a great way for like-minded folks to meet.
