Roasted Green Chiles - Las Cruces Area?

Need locations for buying 20-30 lb. sacks of roasted green chiles Mid August in Las Cruces area. Also need casual, kid friendly restaurants with great but MILDER green chile enchiladas and chile rellenos. Thanks!

  1. You should be able to buy chiles at almost every corner -- just follow your nose as you will be able to smell those babies roasting away! Seriously, most grocery stores {Wal Mart too} set up roasters so you shouldn't have a difficult time finding what you want. As far as milder food, you can always ask for your chile on the side.

A favorite place to eat in Las Cruces is La Posta in Old Mesilla; fun atmosphere and good food. Lorenzo's for Italian.

    1. I agree, asking for the chile on the side is a smart idea. I'd also say Si Senor would be a good option and kid friendly. Also, I think most places will give you a little test of the chile to see if it's too spicy for you.

And, yes, just follow your nose to green chile being roasted everywhere. Mmmm, there was someone roasting Hatch green chile at a farmer's market here in Denver this weekend and I just had to stop to smell it for a bit. I LOVE that smell.
