Bailey's BBQ In Blauvelt

Went there last night with the hubby....in a word...delicious!
We split the BBQ Pork Potato Skins and they were amazing. I had the Bailey's bombers for my meal: three small "burgers" one was pulled pork, another pulled BBQ chicken, and the last was brisket. I ordered shells and cheese and garlic bread for my sides.
My husband had the full rack of ribs with fries, shells and cheese, and the corn souffle.
*My little sandwiches were really good! The pulled pork was to die for and the brisket had a great smoky flavor, although I would have preferred a little more sauce because I found to be a bit dry.
*The shells and cheese were forgettable...kind of bland and the shells were too al-dente.
*The garlic bread was nothing special and I only chose it because they were out of BBQ beans (more on that later).
*My husband's ribs were very very good. The sauce they use was very tasty and did not overwhelm the flavor of the meat.
*His corn souflee was equally delish and the fries were standard thick, seasoned wedges.

So the food was good, but they need to hire more waitstaff. There were only two waitresses for 10 tables and with the exception of our two-top all the other tables were 4 or more people. There were also two large parties of about 10 people each. The service was not as attentive as it could have been, but that was probably due to how busy they were and not their talents.
Also I think they were understaffed in the kitchen because it took our entrees forever to come out. I don't think they were expecting that kind of turnout for a Tuesday night.
I would definitely go back, but I think that they need to realize that they are getting lots of press in the area and their name is spreading through word of mouth.
One more caveat...stay away from the so-called blackberry ale....it was basically Bud with a few blackberries floating in it.

  1. Bailey's definitely has some of the best bbq in the area but the service wasn't just for the night you were there. They are pretty much always slow and wait staff has never been the best but the food is worth it! They are almost always busy, especially on weekends so i'm sure the crowd wasn't a surprise for them. Next time go with a group and get the table buster for four... its a massive plate of bbq that can probably easily feed 6 and its all very good.
