Beaufort South Carolina anyone??

Saltus River Grill. I have eaten there twice in the last 6 weeks while in Beaufort for business, and both meals were outstanding. I (or members of my party) have tried the following:
from the sushi list: spicy Hilo tuna roll w/avocado, peanuts and wasabi sauce (Loved it!)
from the small plate list: local shrimp cerviche w/cilantro, tomatoes, red onion, & coriander tortilla
from the salads: classic Caesar and the Caprese
from the specialties: blackened Dorado, ragout of fennel and leeks, sauce beurre blanc, smashed fingerling potatoes and crab gratin ( this was my favorite)
from the local favorites: skillet browned lump crab cakes, red rice, fried collard greens, grain mustard sauce
from the grill: 16 oz bone in ribeye, and the yellowfin tuna
This is a beautiful space right on the river with a great water view and outdoor seating (if it's not too hot), and a nice bar. It is on Bay Street.

I agree - both the food and the atmosphere there are great! I was there last week and had incredible shrimp and grits - right up there with the best I've ever had. Crab cakes and she crab bisque were also stellar. My friend, an investment banker from NY was really wowed by the food - and this is a person who has been around the world and eaten at the best restaurants everywhere. They definitely get my vote!
