this little random place at 1257 Park avenue @ 97th street is unbelievable! called Winston and Tee Express Jerk Chicken. we stopped in on the way to the Nevelson Exhibit at the Jewish Museum for a snack and it ruled!
there was a place on Flatbush Avenue in Prospect Heights/south Slope area just before you get to the Grand Army Plaza stop on the red line but i have a sinking feeling it's gone...can't remember the name, but it's on the right side of the avenue if you're facing the park. let me know if anyone knows it's status. it's sooo good and the coconut bread---yummm.

Are you talking about Christie's? It's now moved over to the other side of Flatbush across from the Blockbuster.

Unfortunately I don't think they have the light bulb to keep the patties hot, so you have to make sure that they are reasonably fresh (don't go too late in other words). Same with the coco bread.

If you want a decent patty, head out of Manhattan. My fave is Kingston Tropical Bakery on 226St & White Plains Road.
