Vegas -- where to go for high-end vegetarian tasting menu with great wines?

Hi!
My boyfriend and I are hitting Las Vegas in a couple of weeks. We are both vegetarian and we are looking for a very nice, romantic place to celebrate our birthdays. We would love to have a vegetarian tasting menu at a place with a great wine list.

Michael Mina is intriguing, but we're wondering if anyone has any other suggestions. I suppose most places would be willing to do a vegetarian tasting menu with advance notice... has anyone had experience with this at any top Vegas restaurants?

Thanks in advance!

Although we have not dined here, the menu looked wonderful when we were walking around Mandalay Bay & came acoss Fleur de Lys. It's a lovely space as well...

    Good luck & enjoy!

You might want to consider talking to the folks at Bradley Ogden, and telling them your plans - they have created vegetarian tasting menu's in the past that friends have raved about. And while I have not taken part in one of those yet, I continue to be impressed by the vegetable "sides" on each trip. The ambience and wine list will almost certainly fit your requirements.

I don't know if Alex at the Wynn has a formal vegetarian tasting menu, but Stratta's old restaurant, Renoir, had one. I suspect they would do one for you.

I was not impressed by Fleur de Lys, where my friend had a vegetarian tasting menu. On a subsequent trip, she had an excellent vegetarian tasting menu at L'Atelier.

          I would suggest:

          Guy Savoy
          Joel Robuchon
          Alex
          Picasso

... in that order - although I'm not sure if Guy Savoy has opened back up yet. All of those choices will be able to do a vegetarian menu for you and all are very nice restaurants worthy of very special occasions. I would just call ahead to make sure they don't require advance notice but I guarantee they all will accomodate you.

Tableau at the Wynn has a vegetarian chef's tasting menu at $85. I've never been, but it is one of their premium restaurants and I have heard good things about it. Also, they display their vegetarian menu outside the restaurant just as prominently as their "regular" menu. That suggests to me that vegetarian is not just an afterthought.
