It seems that the mugs that are steal have better results iin the leak department. But I swear they change the flavor of my tea. Or if I got a new one would it not? Perhaps the coffee I used to drink effected it? Or do you know of a good plastic, but insulated mug? The mugs I see in Starbucks that are plastic don't seem to have the same leakproof systems as the metal ones. There don't seem to be any rubber "gaskets" for the seal like the metal ones. Oh, and whatever mug I get needs to fit in my car cupholder.
