Has anyone been to Mangoustan? (Vietnamese, rue St-Hubert)

I've done a search and not found any reference to Le Mangoustan, a Vietnamese byow on St-Hubert, between Rosemont and Bellechasse. Friends want to go there. I had a good meal there several years ago (in terms of rapport qualité/prix) - this was a fairly economical byow in a very quirky old converted flat. Any more recent visits?

We live close by and tried it on a lark - you can do MUCH better.

I think I've won them over to Pho Tay Ho, or trying Villa España. Trust me, years ago it was very good (for a small, cheap byow) but I'd heard it had slipped. Too bad.

It is a restaurant that gets mixed reviews in my friends and myself. I am not a fan. I went there a couple of times but never found it really to my taste but my friends really liked it. They used to go regularly but they stopped going when they said that the quality had gone downhill. That was a couple of years ago but maybe things have changed. Since it is not too expensive, if it hasn't changed, you could give it a try and come back here to tell us about it!

Not if I can persuade them to go to Pho Tay Ho instead, but of course I'll write about it if we do. . Another possibility (not Vietnamese) is the Moroccan restaurant Mogador on Beaubien between St-Laurent and St-Denis.

My last 2 trips to Pho Tay Ho were disappointing - I posted about it elsewhere a month or two ago. (Would search for the link but I'm using a lo-bandwidth / $$ connection, sorry - just wanted to warn ya!)
