Can anyone suggest a place for a tasty Saturday lunch within walking distance of 1 Dorrance Street (the Avis garage) in Providence, RI? I will be leaving my car there and will have much time until my train arrives on a Saturday afternoon.

You're w/in easy walking distance of the Mall, so you could have brunch or lunch at Cheesecake Factory, or lunch at Napa Valley Grille.

Outside of the Mall....you could walk across the bridge over Rt 95 to Atwells Ave ("Federal Hill") and while there are many choices there, I'd recommend sitting by the fountain at DePasquale Square and having lunch outdoors at the cafe at Venda Ravioli.

I had a few other places in mind but they either are closed wkends (Cafe Choklad) or don't serve wkend lunch (Parkside).

If you choose to eat first and park later (or don't mind a bit of a longer walk - maybe 10 full minutes) I'd highly rec Nick's on Broadway. Only downside is it's very small so you might not get in depending on what time you get there/how much time you have to spare.

Skip the Mall and walk down to Bravo Brasserie (http://www.bravobrasserie.com/) for Lunch on Washington/Empire across from Trinity Rep.

You could also go to Murphy's Deli at its new location on Fountain St, Cuban Revolution (http://thecubanrevolution.com/), Tacqueria Pacifica on Empire Street, Union Station Brewery, Citron, RiRa in the Union Station complex.

You could also walk up to the Hilton and eat lunch at Shula's. I would recommend Trinity as well, but I think they are closed for lunch on weekends during the summer.
