Subs on the B line

Okay, I'm planning a quick picnic dinner in the Public Garden this evening before a movie at the Boston Common, and what's speaking to me is subs, specifically your basic cold Italian with everything. What's also speaking to me is ease of procuring subs, and so my question is this: between Allston Village and the corner of Tremont and Boylston, is there a better choice for subs than my usual standby of T. Anthony's?

None of this "go to Vinny's out in Medford" stuff, please. I'm really looking very specifically at Allston Village, Comm Ave between Harvard Ave and Kenmore Square, the square itself, and Comm Ave, Newbury and Boylston between Mass Ave and Tremont. Surely there are some hidden gems along that route.

Banh Mi from the Food Court. For the price, you can pick up an extra 3 or 4 in case you get the munchies.

Yes, but I eat anywhere between one and three banh mi from Pho Viet (they've raised the price to $3, which is handy since I never have change) per week, so there's no novelty there. As it was, we went with the usuals from T. Anthony, which as always were fine. I'd just been hoping there was a place I didn't know about that was the equal of my beloved Mona Lisa over in Cambridge.

I actually like the Italian sub from the deli in Marty's Liquors at Harvard & Comm. They have some other name for it - the Roman or something like that - but it's made with the Boar's head cold cuts, your choice of bread, and a good choice of add ons.

There is a Subway on Tremont, one block from Boylston.

There's also New York Pizza, right next to the Subway, but I can't imagine either is any better than T. Anthony's.
