Help, our sushi place is gone

The sushi place near Dundas & Kipling that we were regulars at (Ichiban) closed while we were eating our way around France last month. What, they didn't think we were coming back???

Anyway, now we’re looking for a good weeknight place close to home that doesn’t break the bank.

We're not overly fond of Gojima (Bloor & Islington), and Sushi 2 Go gives my Japanese-Canadian husband an vaguely unpleasnt feeling.

Has anyone been to Kame (a couple of doors west of Gojima)?

Other suggestions in the vacinity would be so appreciated, as we are experiencing withdrawal symptoms and it’s getting ugly.

    Sushi Kaji. On the Queensway.

Kaji is amazing, but not in the same $ league as Gojima ( >$100 pp for Kaji). I've tried Kame, and think it's pretty similar in quality to Gojima (maybe even a step below). There's a new place just east of Royal York and West of Prince Edward on Bloor called Momiji Sushi (right next to the Swiss Chalet) that is definately a couple of notches above Gojima and still in the same price range. I've found them to be quite fresh, fairly nice atmosphere (good for families or couples) and the service is quite friendly. Let me know what you think if you go.

Try ASA Sushi at Jane/Bloor...definitely one of our favourite neighbourhood haunts.
