Looking for large restaurant

Hi all - I'm looking for a very large restaurant - needs to be an NYC hotspot! I'm throwing a party for 1000-1200 people. Can anyone recommend a good place?

For something that large I would go for Cipriani's.

Buddakan is enormous and hip.

I second Buddakan. The place is very sceney and the food is Asian fusion. They do a much better job at dim sum and appetizers and meat dishes than rice/noodles. So I think it is good for party of your type (I supposed you are serving hors d'oeuvre throughout the party)

The place is chic enough for Chanel to host their fashion week party there. The food is much better than Tao IMO.

I'm not crazy about the food, but check and see if Tao could accomodate your group's size. The atmosphere and drinks are good.
