Memorable Dinner for Anniversary

With so many good restaurants in LA, how do you decide? I haven't been to a lot of really memorable dinners in LA, but I would like to celebrate my anniversary and take my wife somewhere we both will truley remember (dinner and atmosphere)...Something that when you leave, you are wow'd and can't wait to share your story with friends and family. Any suggestions? Thanks!

For a memorable anniversary dinner, I would have to go with either Spago or Grace for their tasting menus.

You might try Osteria La Buca on Melrose. As of a few months ago it was still this very very teeny place with candlelight and amazing pesto, etc. I know they're expanding so the charm and intimacy might have changed, but it's worth considering. I had a birthday there that felt magical.

Prividence tasting menu. Or Valentino, of she likes Italian.

        Spago is good too.

I knew someone would recommend Providence! If you go that way, JMP, specifically ask NOT to be seated in the little four-table room in the back - they stuck us there last New Year's and it was not very nice at all.

I've been seated there a few times and like it a lot. It's more romantic than the main dining room.

I guess it depends who is at the other three tables! When I was there, it was very loud and obnoxious people and it really detracted from the experience. Plus, I like windows.
