Broadway Pho in Chinatown

I stopped in at a place called Broadway Pho in Chinatown this evening. I ordered a combo noodle soup dish that had chicken broth, thin egg noodles, baby bok choy, shrimp wontons, sliced green onion, fresh cilantro, and pork slices in it. I ordered this at the rec of the owner because I wanted to try something other than combo pho. The soup was actually very good. The soup broth was a bit oily, but the overall flavor was good.

The real hit for me was the nem nuong cuon. Someone mentioned these rolls on Chowhound recently, so when I saw them on this menu, I decided to order them. They were delicious! I think they had pork in them as well as something fried, along with fresh basil, rice noodles, etc. The flavor was exceptional. I was also very hungry.

The total for the soup and the rolls was less than 10 dollars, and the service was really good. The owner answered all of my questions about what I was eating, and the service was really fast, too. I was pleased with this place.

  1. Thanks for reminding me. I've been meaning to try the pho at this place....how does the nem nuong cuon compare to Brodard or Nem Nuong Khanh Hoa?

Actually, this was the first time I've tried nem nuong cuon. I went to Nem Nuong Khanh Hoa earlier this year, but I did not know what nem nuong cuon were at that time. I did enjoy my pho at Nem Nuong Khanh Hoa very much, though.
