Rehearsal Dinner for 50 in Santa Monica/Venice

We're looking for a relatively inexpensive restaurant in Santa Monica/Venice for a rehearsal dinner in October. There will probably be 50 people as there are many out of town guests. We were thinking Mexican would be a good choice. We have tried La Cabana but we're not sure the back patio will hold 50 people.

Any other suggestions for under $20/pp not including drinks but with tax/tip? Could be Mexican or other.

Thanks!

I thought of a few more places for you. Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, which is an art Gallery complex has a cafe and they can do private parties. Also, Back on the Beach and Back on Broadway are reasonable options which rent out for private parties. I am not sure if you need a larger group then 60-but I would check them out.

Look into Warzsawa in Santa Monica - they can accommodate you, I'm sure.

I wonder if Lula on Main Street might work for you? I'm not good at figuring out how many people will fit in a space, but the back patio might accommodate 50, and if not, maybe the whole restaurant?

I had my rehearsal dinner at Lula about 7 years ago for 80 people and it was great, they gave us the whole back patio for about 4 hours and Gerri Gilliland who runs the place is super warm and gracious and would definitely be cool to plan a menu in your budget. She catered the wedding too! Congrats!

Thanks for your responses. I will check these out. It looks like we may need to be a little larger than 60. Any other suggestions are appreciated.

I'm going to a rehearsal dinner at C&O soon--the one closer to Lincoln on Washington.

I think El Cholo in Santa Monica has a private room.

I am wondering if you can take over the top floor, or bottom, of Lares in Santa Monica for Mexican. Or a good portion of it. Not sure about the musicians these days since their fire.

Second Fritto. I'd also suggest looking into Il Moro and Lilly's French Cafe for their patio. i Cugini also has a nice patio, but don't know how many exactly that it can hold.

If you'd be willing to do west LA, look at Upstairs2.

one certainly could not get out of i cugini for under $20/pp INCLUDING tax and tip.
