Auberge Le Quincy

Hi, May I ask if anyone has ever eaten at this restaurant in Paris? I can't seem to find any reviews on the internet. Thanks,

    Oh yeah! If I had one meal to eat in Paris, this would be it. Worth it in every respect. iHilton100's review below sums it up very nicely. Don't think twice about it...call Le Quincy, make a reservation, take cash, and go. You won't regret it.

      Le Quincy rocks. I reviewed it last spring, I'm pretty sure, and on this board. As far as traditionnal, generous and celebratory goes, it does got get any better.

        Yup; several times; best dish out of game season is the cote de boeuf (for 2) served up by Bobosse himself. In game season, partridge is pretty good.

          We just went to Le Quincy during our honeymoon this month. It was absolutely incredible. They make you feel just like family! The owner reminded me of my grandpa- round, bald, and just wants to feed you. The place is small and cute- very French. We walk in and right away he asks us if we like sausage. We said yes and he comes over with a huge sausage and knife and cuts us each a hunk of sausage on our plate. We were sort of confused, but it was absolutely delicious! Then he brings us a shot of some drink, also delicious. He would stand there to watch our reaction and just wanted us to tell him how much we liked it! And we did.
          We ordered a refreshing, crisp bottle of fruity rose.
          He goes over the menu with you, and wants to help you pick your dishes. He said his beef is good, but we aren't allowed to order it, as you can get that anywhere. He said we had to order off his specialties. We started off by sharing his terrine- a pate like dish made from probably lots of different meats and things (I didn't even want to know!) and pressed into a dish served very cold. He cut us each a slice of that, then brought over a creamy spicy shredded cabbage salad to each with it. It was heaven. Then we shared the most buttery, flaky leak quiche I'd ever had. I didn't want to stop eating that! I had cod as my entree- it was served over a cauliflower puree, and perfectly shaped into a circle on my plate, covered in a rich cream sauce. My husband had oxtail that had been cooked for over 10 hours in a rich dark wine sauce, and served with a little copper pot of buttery mashed potatos. We finished with his chocolate mousse and homemade vanilla bean ice cream (which he claims is the best in France- it was outstanding!)
          We were so full we could barely move. We deciced to walk the 5 miles back to our hotel after this meal, which was definitely the right thing to do.
          They don't take credit cards- only cash.

            You find plenty of reviews, but mostly on French sites which you can find by googling with Google France.

              I have been to Le Quincy twice and loved it. The first time was in January 2002 with about twelve people after a ten day wine tour and the second time was in November 2003 with my wife and two children, who were ten and twelve. Both times they did not take any credit cards, so bring cash. The best part is that you only need to order your main course, as the assorted first course and desserts are the way to go. The prices were not cheap, but worth every penny.

              The owner of the restaurant, who speaks English, is quite a character! When I was there in 2004, he brought a half-bottle of rose to the garbage men while they were picking up the trash, poured flaming after dinner drinks for the locals, and treated us like we were special visitors to his restaurant. He even ate some of our ham!! I do not get to go to France often and would 100 percent go back to Le Quincey.
