Looking for a (perhaps undiscovered) restaurant (non-asian food) in Union Square vicinity with creative cooking, good drinks, and entrees under $25.
Casa Mono, Tavern Room at Gramercy Tavern, Giorgio's of Gramercy
Giorgio's is great
I second Giorgio's
Casa Mono is great, but $25 will not get you enough small plates to fill up on. Via Emilia is much more wallet friendly. The Old Town Bar is fun, but perhaps not chow-worthy.
I like Via Emilia. (It is discovered, though--you'll not find many around Union Square that haven't been.)
Not undiscovered, but there is Republic for pan asian--I only use it as a lunch spot though.
there's a havana central... good mojitos & great sangria!
is this the on17th? bc the drinks are great, but i found the food to be subpar. maybe i had an off night, but the cuban sandwich & black bean soup left a lot to be desired.
The food at Republic is quite awful, but I love the atmosphere and prices and go fairly often! I stick to the pad thai.
Funny--I stick to the pad thai too, and the fruit drinks.
I went once to Blue water grill in the jazz room downstairs and liked it very much. The food was excellent and the ambiance cool with the live jazz.
