Sligo, Ireland help! [Moved from International board]
Perhaps it's a long shot, as Sligo isn't exactly a hot bed for tourism, but I'm going to Ireland for the first time, spending much of the time in Sligo, and was hoping for any tips at all. Thanks in advance!
We spent a night in Sligo a couple of years back and had an enjoyable meal at the Venue Bar & Restaurant, which is located at the top of the hill in Strandhill. It has fabulous ocean views.
The North West and the Sligo Forums at boards.ie might be of help.
If you have a car, head down to Coxtown Manor in County Donegal, it's near the village of Ballintra and the hamlet of Bridge Town. Supposed to be really good food.
I'm afraid I've no recommendations for Sligo, except for the Yeats Tavern which is horribly touristy but surprisingly has a nice Belgian Lambic beer in stock.
County Sligo (and Donegal) is quite beautiful, I hope you have fun! :)
