lola - downtown detroit

next week, i am going to lola in harmonie park for the first time. anyone have any experience/favorites here?

well, i walked over and met a friend of mine only to out that they are closed on monday's. we walked over to mosaic instead. still have not been there. would like to know how your meal went.

We didn't go--we went to Roma instead. They serve a great lunch! I hadn't been there for a while. The parmesan cheese is so good you can just spoon it onto a piece of Italian bread and eat it. I had paglia e fieni (thin noodle pasta or "straw" with prosciutto, peas, and cream) and would recommend it to anybody. The best part is seeing the Detroit News article from 1970 saying that the place offers "nostalgia"--and then realizing it hasn't changed even since then.

I'll get to Lola one of these days.

paglia e fieno is one of my go to dishes for lunch at roma. hopefully you had them make you a roma salad. i always ask for a side dish of anchovies.
