Costco vs. Sam's Club Snack bar Pizza

Today we finally tried the Sam's Pizza after years of only Costco's. Believe it or not it's better and lighter than Costco?
Who would have guessed?

When we had our membership at Sam's we'd try to plan trips so we could have dinner at the club. Decent pizza and great value. We're Costco members now and I don't think the pizza is so hot. I don't get it. They're prepared food is darn good otherwise.

Sam's pizza is pretty decent ... if it does not sit for too long. Costco pizza has almost always been terrible.

Sam's serves a pretty decent Nathan's hot dog. Costco serves a MISERABLE Sinai Kosher dog that is the worst hot dog I have ever had.

The only thing worth a stop at Costco is either the churros (if fresh) and the ice cream bars which are without match.

The eatery here was packed today at Costco. Pizza was not bad. They also have Take-Home and Bake Pizzas too. So if you want to try it out and are not sure if it will be to your liking, why not buy a Take & Bake, and just bring back what you didn't eat if it is bad. Costco has a liberal return policy..They will even refund you the cost of your membership so if you don't use it enough to justify having it, return it right before your year is over :)http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/425203#

I have always found the pizza at Costco to be subpar; greasy, lacking in tomato paste, and just overall tasteless. Why has it garnered accolades? I am curious about the pie at Sam's. The bar is set pretty low, maybe the pizza at Sam's will be impressive.

I've been in a Sam's Club once in my life and I didn't eat anything. What else do they have on the cafe menu?

I've always been a Costco pizza or polish dog man myself, so I'm curious...

Well then, I guess nothing at Sam's Club is really worth mention. Good to know.

I have to disagree on this one.

The one time I tired a Sam's Club slice, it was tasteless. No tomato sauce flavor, no hint of cheese. Nothing. Reminded me of a pizza I once had the unfortunate opportunity to try at K-Mart's food court.

Costco may not be the best pizza, but I think it's better than Sam's.

I've had 25 pieces of Costco over the years.
Sam's first time yesterday fresh out of the oven and it kicked Costco's ass, according to Karla (Italian Wife) , good Sauce, nice Crust, made perfectly. Not exactly a Pizza Next Door , but not bad.

When I had it the quality wasn't good at all. Totally greasy and stood out too long. I think that it was because the Sams I went to (Torrnace) had low turnover and the pizza sat under the heat lamp. Costco is way more busy and gets a higher turnover on their food.

My Sam's Pizza just came out of the Oven in Irvine. 5 mins later it was in my mouth. Can't imagine a piece sitting under the lights for hours being good?
Try a fresh one, we were surprised, believe me!
