Key West and South Beach, where to eat?
Next weekend I am going to South Beach for 2 days and spending 1 night in South Beach.
I am looking for reccomendations of good places to go for dinner. I would also like to know of a good place to stop for lunch on our drive down to the Keys from Miami. I would love suggestions of places that specialize in local south Florida cusine.
Lario's on the Beach will make for a nice Cuban lunch on sobe.
Dinner can be had at several fine establishments here on sobe depending on your taste and budget. Search south beach and you will find a plethora of choices.
On Key Largo there's a great place by the name of Calypso. Should lunchtime find you down around MM 22 go to the Square Grouper...(keys lingo for a floating bail of hemp). Chef's definately got her "creative juices flowing"! That quote comes from none other than Dougie Rodriguez of OLA here on South Beach when asked how he comes up with some of his wack recipes...that would actually be a good choice here on sobe for dinner.
Whilst in Key West go to Ricky's Blue Heaven for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Oh my Blue Heaven is the best. We visited Key West some years ago and discovered this gem while walking around in the August steam. We ended up eating there every day for a week and never tired of it. I still dream of the lobster in a lime sauce with angel hair pasta. Love the bar and the rope swing. Makes me want to go back NOW. Thanks for triggering a flood of happy memories.
