Need First Date Option in Hollywood

Need First Date option Hollywood area.... something romantic, where we can talk etc. I'm treating and it has to be fairly reasonable. ($40 a person including tax, tip etc). Any cuisine is great.... ideas? Silverlake, Los Feliz etc. Really special place, hidden off the beaten path... charming etc. Great food. Red meat a plus.
Thanks!

i think I replied to the wrong one...here goes again...

Vivoli cafe is an awesome italian place hidden in a shopiing center across from the laugh factory. I seriously think it's the best. However the only way your going to pull out an $80 bill is if you 1. take your own bottle of wine - $10 corkage 2. If one of you orders pasta, the vodka sauce pasta is pretty good! They have an awesome meat dish there it's pork medallions with strawberries and a balsamic vinegar reduction that's pretty amazing!

Oh and I forgot to add the first time, I think it's definately a nice romantic place for a date...make reservations!

i hate off vine. love lou (wine bar on vine), hungry cat and would also recommend aoc or cafe stella. all are good places to people watch and have lots of distractions to talk about.

        Cliff's Edge

Location! Location! Location! The best place for a first date. Make sure you sit outside. I love ordering a bunch of things, a bottle of wine and sharing. What other way to get to know a person.

Off the beaten path in Hollywood, there's Los Balcones del Peru on Vine just south of Sunset.

I'll probably get some flak for this, but I had a great date with my boyfriend a few months ago at Cafe des Artistes in Hollywood. The service was timely and unintrusive, and the waiter's wine suggestion was perfect. My steak tartare with frites was tasty and made tableside, so the seasoning was to my liking. The BF's steak frites was lovely--cooked perfectly, nice and juicy. We shared the apple tart, but I would recommend trying something else (the crust was a bit soggy).

If you'd like to go ethnic, I'd suggest Jitlada Thai for something different.

I'd also look into Edendale Grill, Cafe Stella, or over in Hollywood, Magnolia or the Bowery.

I agree with Off Vine. I also like Fabiolous on Sunset just east of Vine.

Food is so-so, but it's nice to sit on the back covered patio at Fabiolous with a plate of pasta or a nice salad and a bottle of wine.

The patio at Cafe des Artistes is also nice, as is the patio at Eat.

Love Off Vine, especially for the duck.

I really like Hungry Cat as a date place, but I wouldn't call it romantic. It all depends on what your date's speed is.

The patio at Dominick's is beautiful and in my opinion romantic.

Opus (Wilshire & Western) is a romantic spot.
