any updates on Hometown Buffet (union sq) or Chili Garden (medford)?

so, just moved back to Boston and the Hometown Buffet Korean place in Union Square doesn't seem to be there....no yellow sign. Are they really gone for good? Noticed Wu Chon, their next door competitor, still seems to bet here.

Also, heard rumors that the chef/owner from Chili Garden left and has a new place closer to Cambridge - is this true? and if so, what is that place?

hometown is still there. it says buk kyung in the window. don't remember it ever being called hometown buffet though

I don't ever remember "Hometown" being called "buffet" either. In any case, it is still there, near the Kawasaki dealership.

To answer your second question, the new place is in Kendall Square and called "Anise." I believe the owner is still associated with Chili Garden. Get there soon before it closes (I'm not a fan of Anise myself, but at least they are striving for something different, which I'm all for...just not crazy about the execution).
