anyone have a tasty rice pudding recipe?

just looking for a good rice pudding recipe.

  1. This is among the best rice puddings I have ever had in my life. Even if you don't want to spring for rhe cost and shipping of Carolina Gold rice you will find none better. Got to make more of this soon.

    1. Here's a good and very simple recipe from the More-with-Less Cookbook:

      4 c. milk, scalded
      1/3 c. rice
      1/3 c. sugar
      1/4 t. salt
      dash nutmeg, cinnamon, or dried orange peel

      Combine all ingredients in buttered baking dish. Bake at 275 for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, until rice is tender and milk is creamy. Stir occasionally during first half of baking time. (Option: add 1/3 c. raisins half an hour before removing from oven.) Serve warm or cold; pudding will thicken as it cools.

      1. i just tried out this thai black rice pudding recipe last night and was very pleased:

        2 cups sticky black rice
        3 cups water
        3/4 cup brown sugar
        1 can coconut milk
        1/2 t salt
        1 mango, diced

        combine water and rice in a big pot and bring to boil over high heat, stirring for a few minutes as it boils vigorously. lower heat to medium and cover, cooking for 10 minutes. then lower heat to very low and cook for an additional 30 minutes. right before the rice is done cooking, combine the salt, sugar and coconut milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. when the rice is done cooking, add the coconut mixture to the rice and stir thoroughly. turn off heat, cover rice and let sit for 10-30 minutes. serve warm with diced mango.

        this tastes even better reheated after it sits overnight - plus it makes a great breakfast.

          This one is the best tasting, best consistancy, best flavour I've ever made.

          1. There are some really good recipes on I have not made them personally but the Barefoot Contessa and Tyler Florence ones look really good...
