Chez Carla, 200 Pine St. SF

Chez Carla, 200 Pine Street (in the SF Financial District), has become a regular part of my weekly lunch rotation. It is located where a Wendy's used to be.

They have a very good salad bar, which features a nice variety of hot & cold items, including sections of nicely roasted chicken. It runs $6 a pound. They also serve sandwiches, prepared salads, soup, etc., but I have not tried any of those. I really do like the salad bar!

This is now my go-to spot when I work downtown. Their spicy chicken sandwich (not hot... but full of spice/flavor, as it's dipped in spanish paprika before being grilled/panini'd, i believe) is the best sandwich I've had in the financial district. I'm heading there now!

Thanks for the report. Here's some previous Chez Carla reports:

Seems like you should arrive EXACTLY at 2pm to take advantage of the discout ... 2:15 ... empty trays.

Their menu is usually pretty repetitive for the bar (and I'd qualify it as "just ok"); however, considering the bar items are discounted by half after 2PM, it's a strong choice for those late lunch days.
