vegan options on the outer cape

hey, i know vegan food can be hard to find in a vacation destination known for its seafood, but does anyone know of any good restaurants in the provincetown area that have vegan dishes? i'm up here for my honeymoon and we were sad to find out that tofu a go go is gone, although it's been replaced by a crepe place that serves some vegan food.

so far we've been to devon's for breakfast (great but so expensive!), a thai place that i think was in wellfleet or thereabouts, and big daddy's burritos. we'd like to go out for at least one really nice dinner.

anyway, i was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

I was just going to suggest Terra Luna in North Truro. It's in that Cape Cod Vegetarian list, and the pasta dish they mention is wonderful. It's been on the menu for years--hope it's still there. Great salads, too, from their garden.

Don't confuse Vegan with vegetarian. There is likely eggs used in the pasta, a strict no-no for vegans.

Update: Terra Luna now has a "vegan lasagna" on the menu--sounds great. It includes polenta instead of pasta.

I haven't tried it yet but I will say that the meal I had there earlier this week was terrific. I could eat the Agro salad (watercress, pistachios, and something else in a lemon vinaigrette) every day.

        2. nah, pasta is usually just flour and water, odds are good that angel hair pasta is ok. egg noodles aren't all that common in italian food and are usually identified as egg noodles in descriptions of food.

napi's was all right but WAY overpriced. my husband paid $20 for a burrito! and i got a "curry" that was coconut milk based like a thai curry but flavored with indian curry powder. it was unspectacular. i just kept thinking about the amazing gourmet vegan meal we could have gotten at horizons in philly for that amount of money...

Must disagree...if it's fresh homemade pasta it is more likely to include eggs than not. Dried pasta will likely not.

best bet is to ask the waiter and when they hesitate, ask them to please ask the chef.

            1. there is a great upstairs place on commericial st but I cannot for the life of me remember the name, my vegan friends eat there all the time.....i'll research and get back to you.....

My vegan friend says the Crepe Over the Cape, across from Marine Hardware and the Caroo Cafe both have good vegan stuff, both were recommended......jim

Could have been it was the one that my vegan friend was guessing at, I guess she thought something catchy. It is upstairs, across from the Marine Hardware....
