Organic, Certified Organic, Biodynamic and Sustainable
I would like to notate which of the wines on my list fall into these categories. I wonder if there is a way to find out other than contacting the wineries. Does anyone know of a site, government or otherwise that would aid in my research? I have found a few but the info is minimal.
On another note, I'm curious as to whether this info listed on a restaurant wine list would be of interest to most of the bloggers here. I for one am realizing the importance, especially of Sustainable Agriculture.
Cheers,
Punk

Tonya Kay, an EcoHearth writer, has a series that covers "how to read wine labels, as well as the ins and outs of organics, biodynamics and sustainability as applied to wine".

Jack and Joanne at Fork and Bottle have compiled a list of over 300 biodynamic producers all over the world. See the list at : http://www.forkandbottle.com/wine/bio...

Look at the wine label itself. There are various trademarked symbols/logos that wineries will use on their labels to indicate if the wine is certified organic, or is biodynamic, etc. You can also check out a winery's website, besides calling them directly.
A less reliable method would be to search retail websites that specialize in organic and/or biodynamic wines. ("Less reliable" as you have to take someone else's word for it, and presume they are accurate in their informaiton.) One example would be The Organic Wine Co. -- http://www.theorganicwinecompany.com/ -- although I must quickly point out that I have no personal experience in dealing with them.

I can only suggest you search "biodynamic wine" and "organic wine." Using Google as an example, the former comes back with approximately 316,000 hits, while the latter shows over 2 million.
