Visting this weekend, would like some recs

Howdy all, as the topics states, my mom and I will be in Chicago (A second time for me and a first for her) this weekend. Sadly due to a wedding we'll only have maybe 2 days to do anything. What I'd like to know is are there any decent Chicago-style pizza places, blues clubs, good bars (nice beer selection for me) in and/or around the Burnham hotel? I don't want to venture too far out of the loop area or the hotel because as I said, we won't have much time but a good meal will be appreciated. Please feel free to add any other recs you might have. We'll eat just about anything we don't have to catch. Thanks in advance.

Buddy Guy's is fairly close to your hotel. It is a little more upscale than most of the other "blues bars" in town, but the acts are usually very good (and it is downtown). As I recall, the food ain't terrible either. They don't take reservations, and the place can get crowded on weekends, so I would arrive fairly early.

I wasn't sure if Legends was still open or not, thought I had read a story about it closing but I guess I was wrong. I was so close last time but I was with an ex and the blues weren't her thing so I was out voted.

For pizza, try Pizano's on Madison. It's within easy walking distance of your hotel (across from Milenium Park), and serves classic Chicago style pan pizza.

For beer, try the Gage on Michigan Ave. It's a new Irish pub/restaurant and is supposed to have a good selection of beers. It's also within easy walking distance.

I'll second the Pizano's suggestion. I was going to recommend that for great Chicago style pizza myself. Enjoy your visit! Chicago is a great city!

Much thanks to everyone and their suggestions. It's my second time visting and I get to see/do a little more each time. Next visit, though, I'm coming on my own and doing whatever the hell I want

That location is living on borrowed time. Columbia College bought the property, and I think is going to build dormitories there. They are letting BG's stay there until they find a new location.
