Lunch Near Holy Cross (Worcester)

Any thoughts on a convenient lunch stop close (within 10 minutes) to Holy Cross? Really won't have the time to go downtown, nor will my daughter have the patience to wander around. I know most of Worcester well, but not the area around the college. Thanks for your help.

  1. That's a tough part of town for finding good eats. If you shoot up Cambridge St to Webster Square, you could go to Chopsticks, which used to have a pretty good lunchtime buffet. Or you could head toward Green Island going the other way on Cambridge St and hit Tacos Parilla Mexicana, which has gotten very good reviews on this board.

It reopened last year. Had been closed .

Go to Highland St. Sole Proprietor or The Boyton. Sole is a little more upscale

      2. Block 5 Bistro on Green Street. Get on 290 for 2 exits to #13. Turn left at the exit ramp light and go through Kelly Square, turning right onto Green Street. It will be on your left side.

If you just want a good sandwich to go, get off the same exit, but after heading into Kelly square, take a quick right onto Water Street. Look for Tom's deli on your left side.

It's also <10 minutes to Shrewsbury Street.

Thanks. I was hoping for something near HC. I am very familiar with Worcester and many of the places you have suggested.

        2. Had a thought -- One Love. Don't need to get on 290. 5 minutes aways.
