Rick's Drive In

Hello, I am just commenting based on some recommendations I read on this site. I recently moved across town to Los Feliz and was checking out the "Best Hamburger" thread. Quite a few people were recommending Rick's in Silver Lake. So, for lunch today, I went there and ordered a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a drink. As far as fast food burgers go, this one takes the cake. While it does take a while to get the food, it is on par with the waiting time at In n' Out. The only negative thing was that I was not to crazy about the fries. I prefer a thinner, crispier fry than those at Rick's. All in all, I wanted to thank everyone for the recommendation and urge others to try it out.

  1. It's also a good go-to place for breakfasts of any kind....traditional American or Mexican.

    1. the asada tacos are good too.

      1. I like the sign out front that says "In LA everybody eats at Ricks". It makes me imagine some rich guy getting off a plane, getting into a limo and demanding "TAKE ME TO WHERE EVERYBODY EATS!" and the limo driver just shrugs and drives him to rick's.

Or, perhaps it refers to the film, "Casablanca" originally
entitled, "Everybody comes to Rick's." Maybe I'm wrong,
          I don't know...

        2. According to an article in the Pasadena Weekly, Rick's has received a reprieve from the wrecking ball for up to 2 years. They're still looking for a permanent location nearby. This is good news for all those looking for a Rick's fix in the future.

just an fyi...the article in the Pasadena Weekly was in reference to the Rick's at El Molino and Walnut in Pasadena, not the Silver Lake Rick's...

          2. The Rick's in Silverlake also has good hard-shell beef tacos and bean/cheese burritos.
