UNIVERSITY CITY RESTAUNT WEEK

REcommencations please for your favorites for the UCity Restraurnt Week that is coming up!

Do any of the restaruants have parking?????

Would like to choose from one from the $25 list! Thanks for your advice!

    Let me reccomend not going to White Dog. I went last year and had a terrible experience. Portions were tiny, service was off. Not worth the money.

      Definitely Marigold Kitchen. Very inventive and fantastic food.

        I enjoyed my meal at Rx last year. However, they do the $25 special all year round, Mon-Thu, so you don't need to go during restaurant week.

        Marigold is a good deal because you just order off their regular menu. I wasn't wowed by my meal there (I had a salmon dish), but thought it was very good and most people seem to really enjoy it.

          I don't remember how much Nan was, but I went to University City's Dining days there last year, and it was fantastic. As for parking there, it was not a problem finding street parking right near by.

            Another rec for Marigold and I got an email saying they are extending the deal through August 9th.

              Vietenane on Baltimore ave. is great- cheap and good food if you want to diversify. I was not impressed with Nan and I agree that White Dog has taken a down ward slide.

                REPORT ON NANS AS PROMISED!!!!!!

                My friend and I had a WONDERFUL meal at Nans and we felt we made the right choice for Restaurnt Week!
                We started with two different types of salads which we shared and both were delicious in their totally differnt light dressings!. He chose the Peking Duck as his main dish and his only complaint was that the Hoison sauce was a little strong!(IT was not the typical Peking Duck that we are used to) I had filet and shrimp in a wine reduction sauce which was DELICIOUS! The filet was tender and the shrimp were large! The portions were more then plentiful! One of our neighboring tables had the lamb chops in a curry crust which looked yummy!

                The rolls were more then fresh as they had just come out of the oven!

                Desserts were a problem as we could not decide what to choose. We ended up sharing the choclate cake which was warm with a rasberry sauce and the creme brulee. Both were good but I particularly loved the creme brule which was light and not ulta sweet!

                Good service and nice ambiance so we left with a feeling that our Restarant Week meal was quite a sucess(With happy faces and a FULL stomach)

                  I am happy you enjoyed your meal and that you decided on Nan over Marigold Kitchen which, lately, has been wearing the Emperor's New Clothes.
                  I hope they get their act together again.
