Baltimore Deep Fried Steak and Cheese
Perhaps the most unusual dish I have consumed recently is the deep fried steak and cheese at Hot Tomatoes in Fells Point. They fill a tortilla with thinly sliced steak, onions and cheese and then deep fry the thing. It is an unholy affair that nonetheless is deeply satisfying if one has consumed a few adult beverages previously. $4 a pop, if you can get it. I dare anyone to try it and complain. They also have above average pizza by the slice.

Chimichangas usually seem have rice and/or beans also, but if it's in a flour tortilla then yeah, I guess it is.
The ones at Ugly Muffin were more calzone or empanada style, if I recall correctly (they used dough instead of a tortilla). Hence my inner food snob votes anti-chimichanga on this one.

There's a place in Timonium called The Ugly Muffin that does something similar, only it's in a dough pocket rather than a tortilla. It's both horrible and delicious at the same time.

It's on Cranbrook in Cockeysville. My sister used to work at Patrick's (?) in the same shopping center and once in a while I would sneak over to the Ugly Muffin to get a deep fried steak and cheese thing. Grosses me out just thinking about it but I remember them being disgustingly good.
