A couple of people on this thread -- http://www.chowhound.com/topics/362716 -- reported trying ThaiNY and were not enthused. However, that was back in January, so maybe the food has improved?

I think our visit was in March or April. Like I said, nothing to go crazy over but it was tasty.
Not sure about going by one of the comments on that thread - the one who got take-out. I think take-out is such a tough way to judge a restaurant because in the delivery, quality can often be very different than if you eat in.

My SO and I went for the first time a couple of months ago and liked it. We thought the food and service were both very good. The food doesn't give much of a wow factor but it was solid and well-prepared. Prices are pretty reasonable too.
(fyi - if you love Thai food and haven't been to Sripraphai in Jackson Heights, I'd recommend it. Check the Outer Borough board for more info.)
