Biggi's, Hazlet

A new Italian restaurant in Hazlet opened about a month ago. Situated near the bowling alley and a health club. Has anyone been? I understand they do not serve pasta dishes.

RGR you are tough cookie, lol!

I'm still trying to mend my mediocre ways!

    2. Leave it to a place in Hazlet to screw up Italian :-) (sorry, I know it's not Hazlet's fault but I grew up there from 10 onward and don't have fond memories of the town. I find it hard to believe there's any place worth eating in there at all).

Sivy, we enjoy the restaurant across from Hazlet movies for a quick meal.

..but I agree w/you Hazlet has way too many chains.

      2. Biggi's has been there for about 21/2 years!

Herm, not according to the owners. That section of Airport Plaza is a fairly new addition anyway.

It's definitely been there for atleast a year, if not longer. I go to the gym next door, don't see too much activity around the restaurant and I've never heard anything about it.

Jennis, must be new owners that I spoke to then. I'm going to give it a try tonight.

                Hey, HillJ,

I may be tough, but I'm also open to persuasion. Appreciate you taking one for the team and await your report.... :-)

..and take one I will...but unfortunately today's flooding prevented dh from making it off of the air strip in time for a relaxing meal.

If the meal at Biggi's is noteworthy I'll report back. No pasta served has me curious.

I find it hard to believe that the owners don't even know how long the restaurant has been there. I know for a FACT that it has been there for at least 2 years.

                    1. re: Herm

Herm, frankly I am a bit confused now too. No chance the current owners are new? I did see grand opening flags in front not all that long ago...either way...I'm going to go this week and find out.

What matters is....how's the food? No one seems to know.

                      1. re: HillJ

Ah yes the food! That really is the important issue! Without hearing anything specific, I've heard it was always pretty good, although the sources may not have been the most reliable.

Try I did...Biggi was a big disappointment. From salad to entree, horrible. When the a/c didn't work I immediately thought of RGR!

LOL! Speaking of broken A/C's - did you see my review of Gaucho's in Westfield? My brother and I went on opening day for lunch and the A/C was broken. They closed the next evening for repairs. That was a week ago - it's still closed!

Yes I did, Sivy! A week later huh, we've got Gaucho's on our list for the next time we visit family in Westfd....hope its not a long term issue.
