Housenka in Beverly Hills - Closed on Saturdays

We tried to have dinner at Housenka last night and found it to be closed on Saturdays. This seems unusual. Also, the space is tiny, unusually so.

I would love to read some reviews of anyone who has been there recently, in the past few months.

The South Bay Housenka is in Torrance on Carson and Cabrillo. I'm assuming it is a Japanese place, it's got the little curtain-y thing on the door. I've never been in there, but I am curious to check it out...what are the menu items at the BH one?

I wonder if this place is closed. I know there are a few restaurants like Hike that aren't open on weekends, but it does seem quite strange to be closed on a Saturday night, unless they are on vacation (in which case you would usually see a sign to that effect). I'll try to check it out this week.

Although it does not appear that inviting (peek in the windows), I remain intrigued.

That is a very Jewish neighborhood and a lot of places are closed Saturday. That could be the reason. Interested in going, but havent been there yet.

Yes I believe they are Kosher. This is right in the Jewish area of BH. They will be closed a lot in the next 3 weeks with Rosh Hashanna, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot holidays.

Isn't it in that mini mall on the north side of Olympic at Oakhurst? I think they have / had another location in the South Bay too.

We, too, want to know if we are missing something!
About a year ago we attempted to have dinner there only to find a table saw blocking the entranceway; they were doing some maintenance/remodel inside. Then, this weekend, we tried again to find a "closed" sign in their window on a Saturday night at 6:30pm.
I just want to know if it is worth a third try.

And Servorg, I believe your directions are correct; it is in a mini-mall with a dry cleaners.
