A recent thread about cucumbers had a lot of cold cucumber suggestions.

However looking around for recipes for my own use, it seems like there are lots of recipes for hot cucumbers including this great site which also has cucumber trivia like the record for the world's largest cucumber is 59 lbs set in 1988 in Australia (in the cucumber FAQ section)

Like the tomato, the cucumber is considered a fruit by botanists ... never knew that.

Some of the more unusual recipes in that link: Cucumber marmelade, cucumber ketchup, hot mulled cucumbers, microwaved cucumbers stuffed with italian sausage, cucumber au gratin, cucumber mousse. cucumber granita

This site had an interesting hot cucumber recipe - Carrot-Cucumber Acar with Fried Garlic. It also has in it fresh ginger, ground coriander, ground cumin, ground white pepper, ground nutmeg and fresh cilantro.
