Pear Honey

My Mom, now deceased, used to make this thick syrup-like substance out of pears- it had no solid particles in it. It was absolute heaven with homemade biscuits and butter.
I have no clue as to how she made it. Anyone heard of this or have a recipe?

  1. Never mind. I googled it and found plenty- duh :) Shoulda done that to begin with.
Seems there is a lot to it- a lot of preserves type proceedures.
I wonder if I could make just enough for a jar or 1/2 jar and not do all the preserves proceedures?

Yes. If you plan to eat all the pear honey in a relatively short period of time (days or weeks, as opposed to months), you can just refrigerate the product instead of sealing in jars.
