I picked up some massive sized whole wheat pita and now I don't know what to do with them... My only ideas include hummus, or just cut them & baked with cinna/sugar or garlicky/olive oil & sea salt- but they are so big and pretty I hate to chop 'em up...
I've never worked with ground lamb-what can I use for Gyro-ish meat at home?

I have taken to making personal pizzas with my whole pitas, and love, love, love it.

Generally I lightly toast the pita first with olive oil before topping with mozzarella and all the other fixins' before going back into the toaster oven to melt the cheese and warm the other toppings

I like to make zataar bread--brush the bread with olive oil, then sprinkle with thyme, sesame seeds, sumac powder (middle eastern market or Penzey's will have) and some salt. Put in oven to crisp or broil it. Very tasty, particularly with a tzatziki type dip or hummus.

Cut the breads in half and make falafel to fill them with. Near East makes an easy and tasty mix for it, or Fantastic brand.

Instead of lamb, try ground beef in a kafta, which is like a kebab hot dog. Or get a boneless leg of lamb and roast it on the grill then slice thinly to put in the pita.

Are you sure it's pita and not aram bread? These look like pita but are rectangular and useful for roll up sandwiches. You spread or lay stuff out on it then roll up tightly. Saran wrap and chill a few hours then slice 1-2" thick.

If it *is* pita, second on the kefta with zaatar. Plenty of garlicky mayo as well, you'll be ready to fend off the vampires.

lucky you! you found real lebanese pita, not the touristy stuff we find most places :)

Try them with nutella. the traditional (big) pita is made with milk and a bit of sugar so it goes really really really well with nutella and other sweet things.
