picnic in prospect park?

if i want to have a picnic near the southwest part of the park (picnic house and environs), where's the best place to pick up prepared foods or charcuterie/cheeses nearby? i'm going to be around prospect lefferts gardens too so any restaurant recommendations there would also be welcome.

The sandwiches at Tempo Presto on 7th Ave and 3rd Street are delicious and easy to take to the park. I especially like the turkey and bacon one.

D'vine Taste on 150 7th Ave. Blue Apron on Union between 7th & 8th Ave. I like D'Vine better.

You may want to consider Russo's on Seventh Ave. and 11th St. or Grab on Seventh Avenue near 15th. Russo has mostly Italian fare and a good selection of cheeses. Only downside with the cheese selection is most of it is prewrapped so you need to be careful in terms of freshness. Grab used to be Blue Apron and I hear the new owner has added some nice items and made it somewhat less expensive.

No, Bob, that's Grab now, as bklyndiner noted. And it's pretty damn good. Picked up great cheeses and meats last night assisted by my Parisian friend who shops there all the time (he lives on 7th between 15/16). We were both very happy.

I spent 25 bucks for 2 cheeses, 3 meats and a baguette that did more than feed me and my wife.

I used to just grab a baguette, cheese, belgian beer, and some cold cuts at D'Agostinos, but they are closed now. :-(
